The Cove Workshop was founded by John Mathews in 1979, where he spent 38 years designing and handcrafting bespoke furniture across Europe. With a lifetime of experience, John developed a deep expertise in woodworking, marquetry, and transforming natural materials into works of art.

Now enjoying retirement, John has channelled his passion into making the traditional craft of marquetry accessible to everyone. Marquetry is the decorative art of using thin pieces of wood veneer to create intricate patterns, pictures, and designs.
